About New Zealand Radiata Pine Wood:
Radiata Pine, better known as 'New Zealand Pine' is a softwood tree that contains many properties that make it very suitable for furniture and furniture making. It has a density equal to that of hardwoods like poplar, mahogany and oak. Its uniform density ensures a smooth and consistent texture and confers its excellent machining, painting and staining properties; there is almost no variation in color between pieces. Da Vinci's pine wood originates from forests maintained by managers that enforce environmental responsibility and the conservation of forest wildlife.

This is a great crib. I'm seven months pregnant and i was anxious about getting a good crib for a price below $300. This is it! I was hesitant to purchase it just b/c some of the feedback on this and other websites about this crib, but overall the crib is excellent. Relatively easy to put together, as long as you follow the instructions). It took my husband and I about an hour or so. The crib is very sturdy. The color is excellent. A little darker than the picture but still a great, rich color. Others have complained the wood scratches easily and that may be the case, but we used extra caution putting it together so we did ok with that. I'm not sure how it's going to hold up agains the banging of a child/toddler, but for [$], I mean how much more can one expect? It's a very pretty crib. Simple, pretty lines. Very vercitile. Will go with any decor. I can't wait to put our baby in it. Others also complained it was too high, but i'm 5,5 and the hight is perfect for me. I can reach in it easily. Again, the crib has not been actually tested by the baby yet, but so far I've been very pleased with it!
[...] No teething rails noted Difficult to lower the mattress when needed
I'm very satisfied with the crib. The package was a little messed up when it was delivered but no harm to any of the parts inside. Assembly was fairly easy provided you follow the instructions, it took a couple of hours to assemble. The coffee finish is beautiful but scratches pretty easily. Really like that it can be used as our little one grows (we orderd the bed rails along with it).
Overall . . . VERY satisfied . . . is was well worth the money. We ordered the dresser/changing table to match.
