Comments about Schwinn Free Wheeler ST 2008 Double Jogging Stroller:
I wanted a double stroller which would put the weight of the kids over the axel so I could walk on steep, side-sloping sidewalks without having to wrestle with the stroller. Well, I got it, and the thing does not fall backwards, not even going up steep hills. I can steer one-handed on steep side slopes without tensing a muscle; and, on flat ground, it pushes like a cloud. Indeed, it takes a good pair of rubber soles to put the skids on when going down hills. It's as fun for me as it is for the kids.My cargo is not evenly weighted. One would expect a newborn and a four-year-old sitting side be side to be difficult to push over uneven terrain. But the large, pneumatic wheels and the weighting of the stroller's design make the discrepancy undetectable. My only complaint about the hardware is that the axel- not the whole stroller- needs to be just a half inch less wide in oder to significantly expand the number of doors that the stroller could go through. Mind you, it fits through many doors, but a mere half an inch would make a big difference. I love the way the wheels pop right on and off, making storage easier. This is not necessarily the stroller to haul to the mall every other day, but it is great for walking to the mall and for vacations. Hauling it requires a big trunk or spacious van.All in all, the hardware is everything I would expect from Schwinn.Unfortunately, the soft parts fall short. The seats sag toward the center, spilling the kids onto each other. Meanwhile the separator isn't high enough to separate the kids. This puts the infant in danger of being squashed by the pre-schooler, especially when the latter tries to get out of his seat by putting his elbow on the baby and pushing himself up. When he falls asleep, his big head lops over onto her tiny body and worries her mommy to no end. The paper-like seats are cheap, floppy and aggravating. The seat belts are a disaster. I get tired of fumbling with them. I can't use the shoulder straps on my son because they aren't long enough, and he's an average sized four-year-old. Even the paper-like storage bag underneath lacks the support it needs to securely hold important stuff. I ordered the [$] parent bag and it wasn't designed to fasten onto the stroller, but the stroller came with one that was. I wish they would have told me that.In the photo. the canopy looked like it would provide a much wider angle of shade than it does. If only I could rock it forward and back like the shades on carrier car seats, I could stop worrying about the sun frying my baby's eyes. The only good thing I can say about the soft parts is that the rain shield is a must-have. It rolls and unrolls easily off the front edge of the canopy. When unrolled, it simply hooks to the footrest and provides relief from both rain and chilly winds.I saw a competitor's stroller that had much better seats and storage ware, but the hardware was nowhere near the quality of the Schwinn. The wheels were smaller and there was no rain shield. I am convinced I made the right purchase because quality hardware is especially important on mountainous and rough terrain- and hardware it has!I would not buy this for casual shopping; but as a sports stroller, it is definitely FUN!.

Wish it could lock up when you fold it down. Canopy brackets are fragile were they connect to the main frame.
