The color-coded keys help our 2-year-old learn how to follow the songbook and play actual songs. It is also low enough to the ground and durable enough for our 6-month-old to enjoy it also. He just likes to make noise!

Comments about Melissa and Doug Learn-to-Play Piano Music Toy:
I was disappointed that some of the keys are so hard to press and get a sound out of, others are easy, like all of them should be. Sound quality isn't a huge issue because it is after all a toy... but it'd be nice if every 3rd or 4th key weren't stuck or nearly silent. That kind of defeats the purpose of buying the child a piano! Maybe we got a dud, but if they're all like that, I wouldn't recommend this product, and would go for a $40 electronic that would at least give an easy enough sound for every key.

Comments about Melissa and Doug Learn-to-Play Piano Music Toy:
The piano is a perfect size and was the favorite birthday gift of the party. However, to me, a pianist, it sounded too shrill, too tinny of a tone. I was hoping for a better sound. The birthday girl, however, was well pleased.

Comments about Melissa and Doug Learn-to-Play Piano Music Toy:
I hadn't expected a concert grand, and I certainly wasn't bothered by the rather tinny sound of this piano. I'd just suggest that if a buyer is looking for a pleasing chime-like sound, wait until the child is much older and buy a "big people's" piano. For the young child who isn't concerned about sound quality but wants to make "music," this piano is the ticket. I especially like the sturdy construction and bright colors.

MY 1 Y/O GRANDSON LOVES TO PLAY MY REAL PIANO, SO I JUST HAD TO BUY HIM HIS OWN LIL' PIANO. THIS SIZE AND QUALITY CHILDS PIANO IS VERY HARD TO FIND, ESPECIALLY AS AFFORDABLE AS THIS ONE WAS, WHILE STILL BEING OF HIGH QUALITY. I AM VERY PLEASED W/MY PURCHASE AND SO IS MY GRANDSON!!

Comments about Melissa and Doug Learn-to-Play Piano Music Toy:
My twin girls, age 2 1/2, both sat down with the piano and played and sang, banging the keys and playing with dynamics getting louder and softer, I'm glad that I have this piano for them at this stage. One of the girls threw the piano off the couch to test me, it landed on the floor with a loud bang, but all the keys continue to work and no damage to the piano. I think that Melissa and Doug could discuss with the Chinese manufacture about the final touches of quality on the piano as there was glue residue which had obviously squeezed out and dried where the wood joins. Not a big deal, but I was a little disappointed to learn Doug and Melissa manufacture in China as I had heard they are a step above other toys. I sure hop there isn't lead in the paint.

Very sturdy, sounds good, my daughter really likes it. She doesn't play with it as much as I'd like at 22 months, but maybe she will move more into it as she ages. Also, was debating about whether to buy one with a stool... think I might choose that when we upgrade in a few years to the next level. Friends have a full size keyboard that she prefers. This product, however, is great for the price and size and quality. Will last for generations.
