We bought this safety seat for our 20 mo old son because we live at the top of 3 flights of stairs and with a second baby, we knew it would be hard to bring both up and down stairs when one parent was alone, so we installed it at the bottom of our stairs. It works great--he is strapped in and can see up the stairs so he knows he's not being left and our only complaint is that when it came, the box stated it was for up to 20 lbs, but the website said up to 100 lbs, so we had to call CSN to be sure of the weight allowances.
