We use this extra wide gate to separate the kitchen from the family room, to keep our crawler from getting too far away. It's the only, or at least one of the only, gates wide enough to fit a 55" space that is sturdy and nice but you don't have to install it to the walls. Very easy to use, highly recommended if you have an extra-wide space for a gate.

I am very happy with this gate. My husband and I didnt' want to have to install any hardware into our walls like some of the other gates out there require. This one is easy to use and we just step over it. My 1 year old and 2 year old have both pulled on the gate and tried to climb on it, but it stays put. I've been using it for a few months ago and take it up and down every day. Nothing has failed on it.

I have 4 baby gates in my home total--this one is one of my 2 favorites. My favorite things are that:\n1. the top and bottom widths can be different; if I have a baseboard or banister on one side, the gate still stays tightly.\n2. the gate is soft, so baby can stand with his face against it and watch his older brother play trains.\n\nVery sturdy and looks nice.

I have another one of these gates and love it! But, from excessive use it has pretty much seen it's day. So I had to get online to buy another as I couldn't find the same one anywhere around here. It is nice except one of the little tabs that holds the twisty thing on the ends is broken and the thing pops off...not safe! So my husband fixed it to work for now. I threw out the box so I didn't try sending it back. Plus it is such a hassle.... I would try buying this gate again, however, because I loved my first one.

This gate is WONDERFUL for my twins who are crawling and climbing on everything. It fits our wider doorways perfectly and has soft sides that they can see me through if I need to run to the kitchen. It also works better than other doorway gates as it gives them nothing to climb on so I don't worry about climbing and falling!
