About New Zealand Radiata Pine Wood:
Radiata Pine, better known as 'New Zealand Pine' is a softwood tree that contains many properties that make it very suitable for furniture and furniture making. It has a density equal to that of hardwoods like poplar, mahogany and oak. Its uniform density ensures a smooth and consistent texture and confers its excellent machining, painting and staining properties; there is almost no variation in color between pieces. DaVinci's pine wood originates from forests maintained by managers that enforce environmental responsibility and the conservation of forest wildlife.

Nice looking dresser with decent storage space in drawers. Assembly was pretty straightforward. The draws were a bit of a pain to assemble and one of the cam bolts went completely through the pre-drilled hole in the draw spliting the wood a bit. The draws do not all open and close easily. Sometimes the small screws that hold in the track were not able to be screwed flat against the sides, so they stick out a bit. That makes the draws sometimes catch them when opening/closing. I had to re-drill some of the pre-drilled holes and this helped.

Very nice sturdy dresser. It matches the Parker Crib beautifully. Love that the drawer glides are metal as it keeps them sliding smoothly, whereas wood on wood can have a tendency to stick if not made well. Be aware that the sides of the dresser are particle board NOT solid pine like the top and the drawer fronts, which I was unaware of until we got the unit. The large particle board pieces make the dresser a lot heavier than you would think it would be. Didn't seem to have the same scratching problem with the coating like we did with the matching crib. When putting together make sure to be careful when doing the drawer glides as the instructions reverse the left and right sides on you, but if you think about how it should work it's pretty easy to figure out. Also be aware that the back of the dresser is just covered with a thin piece of cardboard like material that is attached with about 20 little tiny screws (your hands will be sore by the time you are done!). The decorative feet add a nice stylish touch.

I use it to store baby clothes. The dresser looks excellent from the outside. The materials used on the inside (especially sides & back of the draws) aren't that great.
